Want to Go On a Free Caribbean Cruise? This One Is Seeking Volunteers to Test Anti-Covid-19 Measures

| CARIBBEAN CRUISES

Currently, due to the coronavirus pandemic, traveling involves a risk of contagion, particularly when it comes to being on a cruise ship surrounded by many people and with little possibility of medical help in the event of a complication. That said, in many places this type of travel has been prohibited and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) qualify the activity as “risky.” For this reason, Royal Caribbean is organizing a pilot test in which it seeks to carry out preventive measures to resume this tourist activity in a safe and effective way.

What does it take to be able to volunteer?

Taking into account the above, they are looking for volunteers to carry out this activity, who ensure that 100,000 people have already been registered since the call was opened in just a few days ago, the requirements of being of legal age and

  • The Air Force released a new video of a B-1 bomber carrying a cruise missile on the outside.
  • The service plans for the B-1 bomber to be able to carry up to 36 long-range cruise missiles.
  • If successful, just a dozen bombers would be able to bombard enemy targets with up to 432 missiles in wartime.

The U.S. Air Force released new footage of a test involving the B-1B Lancer bomber carrying a new Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM).

✈ You love badass planes. So do we. Let’s nerd out over them together.

The test, which did not involve an actual missile launch, is an early step toward B-1Bs carrying JASSM on external pylons, increasing the number of missiles a single bomber can carry by up to 50 percent. See the test here:

Australia vs India: BCCI Says Rohit Sharma Didn’t Travel To Australia Due To Father’s Illness; Fitness Test On Dec 11

    | TRAVEL IN INDIA

The BCCI finally cleared the “confusion” on why Rohit Sharma did not travel with the team to Australia hours after captain Virat Kohli complained of “lack of clarity”, stating that the top batsman had to be in Mumbai for his ailing father after the IPL. Apart from this, the Board said senior-most fast bowler Ishant Sharma is ruled out of the Test series, starting December 17, as he will not be match-fit in time. The Board reiterated Kohli’s assertion that Rohit’s fitness will be up for a review on December 11, following which a call would be taken on whether he can be there for the Tests.

“Rohit Sharma had to come back to Mumbai after the IPL to attend to his ailing father. His father is now recuperating well and that has allowed him to travel to the NCA and start his rehabilitation,” BCCI Secretary Jay Shah

More Than 100,000 Sign Up to Be Part of Royal Caribbean’s Test Cruises in 2021

    | CARIBBEAN CRUISES

About 100,000 cruise-happy people have signed up as a “Volunteer of the Seas, for Royal Caribbean’s government-mandated test voyages, where passengers sail free of charge. Hundreds signed up after the company put out a call to action Saturday, setting up a Facebook page asking for volunteers who were eager enough to sail for free abroad a cruise ship during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“And just like that…100,000 people have volunteered. We can’t wait to start this next phase with you all!” wrote Royal Caribbean President Michael Bayley on his Facebook page.

These simulated voyages are among the cruise ship industry protocols instituted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for cruise lines to test their coronavirus safety measures, the New York Post reported.

In order for the luxury cruise liner to be able to cruise out of a U.S. homeport, they will need a permit from the Centers for Disease

Australia v India: India captain Virat Kohli left in the dark over availability of star batsmen Rohit Sharma for test series

    | TRAVEL IN INDIA

India captain Virat Kohli has admitted that they have been left in the dark over the availability of star batsmen Rohit Sharma ahead of the upcoming test series.

Rohit injured his hamstring towards the end of the Indian Premier League earlier this month and was not named in the squad for the ODI and T20 series, with the first ODI match commencing on Friday at the SCG.

Despite this, it was expected by Indian officials that Sharma would link up with the squad before the test series commenced on December 17.

However, Kohli has revealed that he has gone missing, failing to link up and travel with the side, which has angered the Indian skipper.

“Before the selection meeting in Dubai, we got a mail two days before which said that he’s unavailable for selection, he’s picked up an injury during the IPL and it mentioned that there’s a two-week

The Latest: Cruise lines seeking volunteers for CDC-ordered ‘test’ voyages

    | FAMILY CRUISES

Tens of thousands of cruise enthusiasts have offered to volunteer for “test voyages” that the cruise lines have been ordered to run before they’ll be allowed to resume operations out of United States ports.

And while cruise lines are so far keeping mum about what the actual test cruises will entail, requirements by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control suggest they’re not intended to be fun days at sea.

Still, responses so far show many sea-starved cruise fans are desperate to escape dry land.

Kelli Holder Guffey, one of the fans posting on Royal Caribbean’s volunteer Facebook page, Volunteers of the Seas, said she’d be “happy to be a test cruiser and docking there for a few days. Anything anything on a ship will make me happy.”

More than 100,000 people have clicked a sign-up link posted by Royal Caribbean International last week seeking volunteers for “simulated trial sailings” that

    • The cruise industry came to an abrupt halt in March as the World Health Organization declared coronavirus a global pandemic.
    • Before cruise lines are allowed to officially set sail again, they’re legally mandated to run test cruises — and Royal Caribbean has already signed up 100,000 willing volunteers, the company’s president said.
    • Last week, the first cruise to sail the Caribbean in months was forced to return to port amid a coronavirus outbreak among passengers.

Royal Caribbean, one of the biggest operators in the largest cruise market in the world, says it has already signed up 100,000 volunteers to cruise on its test voyages — the first since the coronavirus pandemic shut down the cruise industry back in March.
