U.S. cruise stocks are shrugging off a potentially damaging setback after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention over the weekend ratcheted up its warning about cruise travel.
The CDC increased its travel warning for cruise travel from level 3 to level 4, which deems the risk for Covid-19 “very high.”
All people should “avoid travel on cruise ships, including river cruises, worldwide, because the risk of COVID-19 on cruise ships is very high,” the CDC said in a statement on its website. “It is especially important that people with an increased risk of severe illness avoid travel on cruise ships, including river cruises,” the federal agency added.
