Last spring, MSC Cruises told customers of cancelled voyages that they would receive requested refunds within 60 days. But MSC and other cruise lines are still facing complaints from customers angry that they haven’t received their refunds eight months later.

After reaching a fever pitch over the summer, complaints about delayed refunds are still coming into the Florida Attorney General’s Office, according to data requested by the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

The number of consumers angry enough to file complaints with the attorney general represents just a fraction of those frustrated by delayed refunds. Thousands of customers posted angry comments throughout the summer on Facebook, Yelp, and Better Business Bureau pages of numerous cruise lines demanding the

Let Them All Talk Review: Streep Cruises onto HBOMax in Messy Drama

Shot aboard the Queen Mary 2 in just seven days as it crossed the Atlantic with 2,600 passengers aboard, Soderbergh’s latest needed more time.

Everything you need to appreciate the sanguine jazz of Steven Soderbergh’s “Let Them All Talk” — a breezy, wistful, semi-improvised comedic drama shot aboard the Queen Mary 2 as the cruise ship crossed from New York to England with more than 2,600 paying customers aboard — can be gleaned from a passage in the New York Times’ recent profile of David Fincher in which Soderbergh remembers how suffocating it was to watch his notoriously obsessive friend do some post-production work on the 2002 thriller “Panic Room”:

“‘David had a laser pointer out,’” Soderbergh winces, “‘and he was circling this one section of a wall in the upper part of the frame, saying that’s a quarter of a stop too bright.’ I had to leave the room.

Carnival Cruise Line announces it is canceling more sailings due to the pandemic.

The cruise line says itineraries from Port Canaveral, Galveston, and Miami scheduled for February are now canceled.

Carnival also announced its newest ship named ‘Mardi Gras’ will not sail its inaugural sailing until April 24, 2021.

Carnival’s cancelations come as Norwegian canceled all the sailings thru the end of February and the majority of its March voyages.

Celebrity Cruises will not sail until at least March to sail with Regent Seven Seas not sailing until April.

Royal Caribbean Group also canceled all sailings through the end of February, with the exception of a handful of Royal Caribbean cruises in Asia, which will be open to local residents only.

World of Cruising | Top 10 Kids’ Cruises

| CARIBBEAN CRUISES

A cruise should be a treasure trove of golden memories – especially for kids. But today’s youngsters are a demanding bunch, so have the cruise lines raised their game?

Cruising might just be the perfect family vacation. It’s not only the safe, hassle-free environment that makes a holiday afloat so attractive (though that’s a big plus); it’s the incredible range of activities that today’s big ships provide.

From fun-filled nurseries and amazing aqua parks to action-packed kids’ clubs and cool areas for teens, there’s something to keep all junior members of the family happy from dawn to dusk – and beyond – while parents grab some much-needed R and R.

That’s why some two million children take to the waves each year. But each cruise line – just like each child – is different, so it’s worth shopping around to find your perfect fit (all prices are for a family

ABOARD THE WORLD DREAM, IN THE STRAIT OF MALACCA — The drinks were virgin and the distancing was social when the Dream Boys strippers stormed the stage. Masks at poolside were mandatory. Hand sanitizer stations stood within easy reach of the slot machines.

And in a vision of the future of the global cruise industry, passengers aboard the World Dream cruise liner wore small pink contact-tracing pods that monitored their locations and recorded the names of everybody they met with.

“We aboard the World Dream are doing our utmost to keep your cruise with us healthy,” Robert Bodin, the ship’s captain, told his 1,400 passengers as they set sail, in a departure from his usual invitation to relax and enjoy the journey.

Singapore, along with several countries in Europe as well as Japan, has extended the cruise business a lifeline. As many ships sit idle around the world, the city-state
