How ‘The World’s Best Travel Jeans’ Brand Pivoted After The World Stopped Traveling

Aviator Jeans

The World’s Best Travel Jeans work when you’re not traveling, too.

Aviator USA

My favorite travel apparel is made by a local Los Angeles company called Aviator. Don’t tell anyone I said this but I essentially live in two pairs of Aviator’s comfort-stretch travel jeans — officially called The World’s Best Travel Jeans — made from 49% Lyocell, 42% cotton, 6% elasterell, and 3% spandex. You know travel jeans are extraordinary when you wear them in a year like 2020 when everyone is stuck at home all the time.

Colby Kane is the designer and former Macy’s art director behind the brand, and he and I kindred spirits. We both live to travel and make travel part of our work. But since March, he’s had to adjust to the radical new realities of running a small fashion brand in the most challenging business climate in recent history.

Family fun on our dog-sledding adventure in the forests of New Hampshire

| FAMILY TRAVEL MAGAZINE

A couple of the dogs are shy or wary, but most are lovable, attention-seeking showboats. They jump atop their houses and excitedly parade about the roofs, or stretch their leashes to lean in closer to us — panhandling pooches begging for scritches. For the dog-averse, this scene could easily be a nightmare. But we happily zig-zag between the doghouses, stroking their scruffy fur, doling out sweet talk, and soaking up the puppy love. It helps that our 7-year-old, a budding naturalist, has a limitless capacity for petting furry creatures.

We’re warned about Moo, named for his Holstein-style black-and-white coat, who has earned a reputation as a charming but mischievous mitten thief. Sure enough, as my wife, Gina, bends to pet him, Moo furtively tugs off her glove — like a magician doing a sleight of hand — and nonchalantly starts to nibble it while still basking in her affections. Prince William told his wife to “just talk and don’t worry about about saying anything she shouldn’t” before she spoke to Giovanna Fletcher on her ‘Happy Mum, Happy Baby’ podcast. Speaking on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Giovana told Shane Richie : “They had scheduled 45 minutes.

“We had an hour and a half! Basically, Prince William had come in as he was briefing her and he said, ‘Just talk. Don’t worry about saying anything you shouldn’t or exposing too much. We can change it in the edit. Just talk.’

“So she was going to answer everything. It was amazing.”

It comes as angry royal fans say the Duke and Duchess should have lost their prestigious titles a long time ago as it is “far more damaging to keep them”.The backlash comes ahead of the couple’s review with the Queen in the next few months following

When schools closed, Black, Hispanic, poor kids took biggest hit

When the pandemic forced the closure of most U.S. schools last spring, students were thrown into new and unfamiliar ways of learning. Special education students and children learning English lost support that their schools struggled to provide online. Many students had no access to computers or internet and were completely cut off from their teachers.

The true toll these disruptions have taken on student learning won’t be known for months or years, but new reports from national education-testing organizations have begun to offer an early look at that impact.

The latest is a report from NWEA, formerly the Northwest Evaluation Association, which analyzed the results of tests given to nearly 4.4 million U.S. students in grades three through eight this fall and found that most fell short in math, scoring an average

| FAMILY TRAVEL MAGAZINE

Anthony Todt claims that his deceased wife tried to murder their three children multiple times. The Disney Dad, who has been charged with murdering his entire family, told his sister that it was his wife Megan who killed the family and then herself all while he slept in the family’s minivan. The gruesome murders drew national attention after authorities discovered the decaying and mummified bodies of the victims at the family’s vacation property, just steps away from Disney World. Todt denied having any role in those murders though in prison phone calls to his sister earlier this year while he sits behind bars on charges he drugged and then stabbed his wife and children.

“There were multiple attempts, just so you know, multiple attempts in the last … over a time frame, there’s been attempts. Which is why this time I was stuck down here trying to handle things,” Anthony

As December nears, an insider revealed the couple are excited to celebrate the festivities in their new surroundings. Meanwhile the Queen’s Christmas plans have just been leaked, detailing which royals she will forge a Christmas bubble with.

Best movies and shows to watch for taking a vacation via your screen

The view highlights the Ionian Sea, with a tiny island off on the horizon. On shore, the turquoise walls of the home-turned-lodge have begun to crumble, beautifully. Olive trees dot the landscape. The setting makes a nice escape, one hour at a time.

In the British comedy-drama “The Durrells in Corfu,” the widow Durrell and her four children have decamped from dreary England to sunny Corfu — and the Greek island is as much a main character as the family members, and every bit as charming. Diving into this four-season, 26-episode series practically transported me to Greece. (I watched the Masterpiece Theater production on Amazon Prime; it is also available via the TPT Passport.)

My virtual trip to Corfu made me realize that a watch list could make a fine vacation surrogate, especially in winter as we await a coronavirus vaccine. What could be streamed during this cessation of travel

Royal family members will likely be apart for Christmas as celebrations remain in limbo: report

| FAMILY TRAVEL MAGAZINE

Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children may not be celebrating the Christmas holiday with Queen Elizabeth II this year.

Like several countries around the world, the United Kingdom has faced renewed restrictions as the coronavirus pandemic rages on. The British royal family is no exception to the restrictions, meaning their annual holiday traditions remain in limbo. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced rules for the upcoming holiday on Tuesday. Brits can be part of one bubble of three households and cannot change that bubble. They will only be allowed to meet in private homes, places of worship and outdoor spaces. The rules will be in place from Dec. 23 through Dec. 27.

Each year, Prince Harry’s grandmother delivers her pre-recorded Christmas message to the British public. The 94-year-old reigning monarch is isolating at Windsor Castle with her husband, Prince Philip, 99, and has not yet decided whether she will
